Panash was formed in 1983 at Mountview High School in Harrow by David Griffiths. The school was closed but their successful and renowned Steel Band continued under the new name "Panash".
In 1990, our current Director, Jay Butcher, took over the Panash name at Rooks Heath High School, also in Harrow
The band established itself as a regular on the festival circuit as well as several international tours and appearances .
Panash relocated to South London in 2008 and has settled in the Crystal Palace area. Since then we have worked tirelessly to promote the Steel Pan and offer classes to the community as well as represent the local area on the national stage and support various local festivals and community organisations and events.
Notable performances include the Royal Albert Hall, London New Years Day Parade (Now London Parade) and the Notting Hill Carnival.
Panash transcend Social, Racial and Class Barriers to create an atmosphere of fun and learning for all.
